Mask interaction without code – transfer values, reset fields and refresh value lists.

What are layout rules?

With layout rules you control events directly on the mask – without a server-side rule. Open the rule editor via a component's context menu → edit rules. The triggering component is shown at the top left.

Events

Event	Trigger
When the value changes	as soon as the field is edited.
Look up value	when a value is searched, e.g. via the List of Values.

Actions

Action	Effect
Refresh value list	refreshes the value list provider assigned to the component.
Reset field	clears a field; for a subform column, the subform BO must be given.
Transfer looked-up value	on „look up value“ transfers an additional value into another field (e.g. the phone number of the selected person).

Multiple rules

An event can have several actions, and a component several events. Components with rules are marked with a red box (top right) in the editor.
