Actions

Give a BO a business variant – per action its own layout, status model and generation.

What are actions?

Menu: Configuration → Miscellaneous → Action.

An action is a more specific variant of a business object. Per action you can assign a dedicated layout and a dedicated status model; object generation is also specified through it. Example: a BO „customer order“ with the actions direct order and subscription order.

Caution

The action mechanism only makes sense if a business object has more than one action.

Configuration

Fields of the action mask: Action (label in the selection list), Business object (scope), Valid from/to (period) and Description.

Actions in layouts

Create the desired layouts.
Under Usage, define the actions the layout applies to.
Add the action field (attribute prozess / Nuclos Process) to the layout.

Required: default layout & process field

There must be a default layout (usage row with an empty action). If the Nuclos Process field is missing in a layout, Nuclos immediately jumps back out on opening – it may be hidden but not omitted.

Actions in status models

Create the desired status models.
Under Usage, assign the matching actions.

Default status model

A default status model is required here too (usage row with an empty action). Without the inserted action field, new objects automatically get the default status model.
