Configure instance-wide announcements – display at login, mandatory confirmation and privacy policy.
HOW-TO ADMINISTRATOR UPDATED: JUL 2026 APPLIES TO NUCLOS 4.2026.X
On this page
Menu Administration → News. News lets you configure instance-wide announcements that are optionally shown to users at login.
Mandatory fields are name, title and content (simple HTML formatting supported). For a news item to be visible, the active flag must be set and the current date must fall within the (optional) validity period.
| Flag | Effect |
|---|---|
| Show at startup | opens automatically after login. The user can confirm so it no longer appears at the next start. |
| Confirmation required | must be confirmed; otherwise the client logs out automatically. Implies show at startup. |
| Privacy policy | the news item serves as the privacy policy and is referenced in the web client. There should be exactly one active item with this flag. |
Permission
The right to configure news is assigned – as with other BOs – via user groups (master data rights). The screen is also available to super users in the web client (admin menu).
Besides the automatic display at startup, valid news can be opened manually: in the rich client via Info → News, in the web client via the info icon.
