User groups
Control rights centrally via groups – general permissions, module/master data rights and further authorizations.

Menu Administration → User group. A user group bundles a name, a description, members and rights. All permissions are controlled via groups (except for the super user).
Permissions of a user group.
General permissions
| Permission | Explanation |

| Working environment: create | May create working environments and window layouts. |
| Working environment: assign | May authorize user groups for working environments. |
| Working environment assigned: customize start tabs | May change tabs of own working environments. |
| Print task list | May print task lists. |
| Call business object | May create and change business objects. |
| Configure dashboards (web) | May configure web dashboards. |
| Configure charts (web) | May configure web charts. |
| Share settings | May share settings with others. |
| Run report | May run reports. |
| Start rule execution manually | May start rules manually (button in the form). |
| See deleted objects | May also search for deleted objects in search screens. |
| Export list | May export result lists as PDF/CSV/Excel. |
| Run management console | May open the management console. |
| Export nuclet | May export nuclets. |
| Import nuclet | May import nuclets. |
| Call nuclet wizard | May start the nuclet transfer. |
| Delete objects physically | May delete physically, not only logically. |
| Call relation editor | May start the relation editor. |
| Resource planning | May configure resource planning/planning boards. |
| Perform bulk editing | May perform bulk editing from the result list. |
| Edit SQL manually (data sources) | May edit the SQL of data sources manually. |
| System start | May log in via the rich client. |
| Call test functions | May call test functions. |
| Edit translations | May enter metadata translations. |
| Run full-text search | May use full-text search. |
| Web client | May log in via web client and REST. |
| XML ex/import | May run XML export/import. |

Access rights are defined per business object:

Further permissions
- Working environments: assign the group to working environments.
- Reports: grant access to individual reports/forms.
- Work steps: execution of work steps defined in the object generator.
- Record shares: fine-grained sharing of individual records.
