What is a dynamic task list?

Dynamic task lists realise complex queries based on a data source. Use them to build task lists or other lists of existing business objects where a simple filter is no longer enough – also as an alternative to a virtual BO.

Menu: Configuration → Data source → Dynamic task list

Example of a dynamic task list.

Step 1: define the data source

The query can use two helpful values:

FieldMeaning
INTIDInternal record ID – needed for the link when saving (invisible to the user).
$usernameCurrent user – for user- or group-specific tasks.

Step 2: create the task list

Menu: Administration → Task lists. Key fields:

  • Name and dynamic task list (assign the data source created before).
  • Task business object: which BO is shown in the list.
  • Jump options (web client only): target BO/ID, user-rule BO/ID.
  • User groups: who sees the list.
  • Labels: language-specific titles and menu path.

Task list configuration.

The finished task list appears under File → Task lists or in the configured menu path.
