What are data sources?

Data sources are stored, parameterisable queries over your business objects. They are the basis for calculated attributes, value lists, dynamic objects, reports/forms and charts – built graphically or via SQL.

Uses

Calculated attribute – compute values when reading from the DB.
Value list provider – dynamic pick lists (e.g. depending on the user's location).
Dynamic business objects and dynamic task lists.
Report & form – data basis for evaluations.
Record sharing and charts.
