graduation cap Charts (example)

Create a chart step by step – chart BO via data source, embedding in the layout and chart configuration.

TUTORIAL CONFIGURATOR UPDATED: JUL 2026 APPLIES TO NUCLOS 4.2026.X

On this page

Charts display data graphically – e.g. a customer's revenue. The values come from a chart business object based on a data source.

1. Create the chart business object

Menu Configuration → Data sources → Chart. The data source requires two mandatory columns that must remain unchanged and be included in the query:

Mandatory columnMeaning
INTIDid of the object storing the reference.
INTID_T_UD_GENERICOBJECTid of the object into which the data is embedded as a chart.

In addition, a parameter genericObject must point to the target object. Further parameters (e.g. with a value list provider) are shown next to the chart. All other columns can be displayed in the chart – the alias serves as the column heading.

Information only

A chart BO is for information only – data cannot be edited. Unlike a dynamic entity, chart entities can have parameters but cannot be shown as a subform.

2. Embed the chart in the layout

The chart BO is available in the layout editor like a normal BO (name starts with crt_) and must be added to the state model for permissions. Drag the chart into the layout like a subform and select the business object and foreign-key field (only chart data sources are offered).

3. Configure the chart

Under properties, clicking „…“ opens a wizard: first choose the chart type, then the value column and the comparison columns, and finally the title and appearance.
