open book Workspaces

Workspaces store and distribute window layouts, desktops and tabs – per user or per user group.

REFERENZ USER UPDATED: JUL 2026 APPLIES TO NUCLOS 4.2026.X

On this page

Workspaces store window settings, desktops and recently opened tabs. As they can be assigned to user groups, consistent environments can be defined in a Nuclet.

Configuration

The control sits at the top right of the main window; administration is via the context menu.

Assign user groups

Assigning a workspace to groups publishes it. Each user gets a copy of the template; users can (with the right) customise and reset to the template at any time. Changes can be published.

Permissions

  • Create – create private workspaces.
  • Assign – admin right; assign workspaces and publish changes.
  • Customise start tabs – without it desktops cannot be edited.

From 4.18

Column/list views are controlled via list views from 4.18 on.

Portal workspaces

For a welcome screen: reduce to one tab bar, show the desktop, hide the toolbar, add menu buttons for the workspaces and set „Hide selection button“.

Parameters

In the properties you can set hideMenuItems to hide further menu items (reporting, search filters, tasks, deadlines):

MainController.cmdExecuteRport
MainController.cmdShowPersonalSearchFilters
MainController.cmdShowPersonalTasks
MainController.cmdShowTimelimitTasks
