hammer and wrench Localization

Manage interface languages and translate automatically – system languages, translator, language selection and fallback.

HOW-TO ADMINISTRATOR UPDATED: JUL 2026 APPLIES TO NUCLOS 4.2026.X

On this page

Menu Administration → Localization. Localization manages and automatically translates the interface languages of Nuclos and nuclets (released from 4.2025.29).

Creating localizations

  • System languages are German (de-DE) and English (en-GB) – not deletable but deactivatable (kept in the background as a basis for derived translations).
  • (auto) attributes are filled automatically from internal Java functions on creation.
  • If a translator (e.g. DeepL) is active, translations run automatically in the background. Errors are shown on the text and as a total count on the localization (with a retry function).

Prioritization

If a translation takes too long (default 10 s) or fails, the parent source text is used – giving the business logic priority and minimizing waits caused by external services.

Three areas

  • Localization: the languages themselves.
  • Localization text: system texts (keys sys#…) and fixed nuclet texts (keys #…).
  • Translator: selection/configuration of the translation service.

Language selection by users

  • Web client: switchable any time via the menu.
  • Rich client: via the login screen; to switch use „sign out and quit“ and log in again.

Fallback

If a translation is missing, top to bottom applies: language chosen at login → main language of that language → primary language of the instance.

Translatable elements (nuclets)

BO name, attribute names, menu paths; state model (status name/hint/button, state change name/hint); layout labels (frames, buttons, tabs, labels); planning board labels.
