Edit subform records directly in a split detail view overlay – with all rule mechanisms applied.

The toolbar function Detail view lets you edit subform records in a split detail overlay – provided a suitable layout exists.

Editing here differs fundamentally from editing directly in the subform: all „normal“ rule mechanisms apply.

Prerequisites

A layout for the subform BO exists.
„Ignore subform layouts“ = false.
No script control of display/editing („New active (dynamic)“ empty).
The subform is „Active“.
The user has at least an explicit read right on the subform BO (implicit rights are not enough).
